Family Hotels & Villas Guide grew out of a simple frustration: it's genuinely hard to find honest, practical advice about which hotels and villas in Southeast Asia actually work when you're travelling with children. Glossy listings rarely tell you whether the pool can be fenced, how many stairs stand between the road and the bedrooms, or whether the staff will happily rustle up plain rice for a fussy three-year-old. This site exists to answer exactly those questions.
The site is founded and edited by Rebecca Hall, a travel writer and mother of two who has spent years exploring Bali, Thailand and Cambodia with her family in tow. Every guide here is written from the perspective of a parent who's actually been there — someone who has hauled a travel cot up a hillside villa's stairs, sought out the calmest beach on a windy afternoon, and learned the hard way which resorts mean it when they say "family-friendly".
Our mission is straightforward: family-first reviews you can trust. We focus on the details that matter to parents and grandparents — pool safety, room layout, pace, food, transfers and value — and we say plainly when a place isn't right for young children. We'd rather send you to the perfect villa for your family than to whichever property is shouting loudest. Slow, considered travel is what we believe in, and it's what we recommend.
We're always glad to hear from readers — whether you've a question about a destination, a correction to share, or a family stay you think we should visit. You can reach the editorial team any time at [email protected], and we do our best to reply to every message personally.
